Ranworth is a small village situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads approximately 8 miles east of the city of Norwich. It is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and is home to the rare Swallowtail butterfly which can sometimes be seen in our garden. Our charming recently refurbished self-contained guest suite comprises:
A traditional English breakfast is served in the sitting room and includes local free-range eggs, rare breed sausages and bacon, homemade preserves.

Two minutes walk from Broadacre is Ranworth village staithe where there are far reaching views of the Broad as well as a shop and post office, tea room, and Tourist Information Centre. Boat trips from the staithe are run by the Broads Authority between Easter and October.Within walking distance is The Norfolk Wildlife Trust floating conservation centre which is accessed by boat or a wooden board walk nature trail. It offers excellent bird watching facilities. Other NWT sites nearby include Hickling and Cockshoot Broad. Link: Norfolk Wildlife Trust

In Ranworth village the 14th Century Church of St Helen's is well known for its Antiphoner, an old service book written by the monks of St Benet's Abbey, and a 15th Century Rood Screen. There are magnificent views of the Broadland countryside from the church tower. The adjacent Visitor's Centre serves light lunches and teas. Pubs serving good food in the area include the The Ship at South Walsham and the The Fur & Feather at Woodbastwick which serves award-winning ales from the adjoining Woodforde brewery. |
